Mohawk Voice – Next Generation VOIP
Voice over IP technology has come a long way since the late 1990s. Mohawk Voice, version 1.0 released November 7th, 2009 is the next generation voice over IP software created for users who value simplicity, high performance, and ease of use.
The Mohawk Voice developers listened to the VOIP community carefully, and version 1.0 is a product of their support and ideas. While the general trend for software products is that they become bloated with unncessary features, and perform slower than previous generations, Mohawk has taken a different route and developed a very focused, and very highly developed solution for the community.
Mohawk, compared with the competition, has the following advantages:
1. Written in Delphi for extremely low resource utilization, and source control
2. Developed by an American corporation with direct interests in the user community
3. Has extremely low latency and overhead, eliminating communication delays attributed to software.
4. Is the easiest VOIP software to use on the market. No unnecessary features.
Mohawk allows for a stand alone, free 5 slot server to be downloaded by anyone and ran in a LAN or WAN environment. Users can enjoy the benefits of Mohawk for free, up to five slots. For higher slot counts, users can visit one of many Mohawk service providers (found here: http://mohawkvoice.com/providers.html), and rent a server up to 500 slots.
Version 1.1 is slated for release December 2009 with new features such as audio recording.
Mohawk is stable on Windows, and beta on Linux and Mac OSX.
