P.C.Hooft dwells here from 1609 to 1647. The Herb Garden,where the scenery is splendid,is worth going as well. You can see the inner lake Zuiderzee made of the reclamation by Netherlands inside the castle. The scenery that waters and skies merge in one color is really charming.
But you could get into the castle only be guided by the guider. The inside of the castle is beautifully decorated since Hooft era. It’s almost open all the year and herb garden is also worth a visit.
