Once your account is ready to go you can start advertising. Select the category you are looking for, such as, “small biz ads.” Once you have selected the category click “post” in the upper right hand corner. This will bring up a screen that you need to fill out. Title your ad with something catchy. Beneath that go ahead and design your ad. Make sure to add valuable links to your website. Most people won’t read a 500 word ad so don’t make it too intense. Give them bullet points that get them wanting to know more. That is where a website comes in handy! Finally all you need to do is submit your ad. You will be asked to fill out a code to ensure that you are real. Usually Craigslist will post your ad within about 20 minutes as long as they don’t suspect you are spam. Make sure to check back within an hour or so to confirm your ad made it through their filter.
