Tender Websites In Pakistan
Every year billions of dollars are spend on developmental works in Pakistan. These developmental works are carried out by the federal, provincial and local governments. The tender which are issued are posted by the related departments on their websites. The contractors used to visit many departmental websites in order to gather information regarding their related tenders. This was a time consuming and tedious job which was repeated everyday by these contractors.
To facilitate the contractors public procurement regulatory authority (PPRA) launched its website in 2004. Since then the contractors are greatly facilitated and now they can search and download their tenders from PPRA website. Since PPRA is a federal government organization many provincial and local government tenders are not published on this website.
This deficiency was fulfilled by many provincial departments which publish their tenders on their websites but again one has to check various websites to acquire their desired tenders. Amazingly up to 2009 there was no tender information websites in private sectors to provide complete tender information.
2010 has been a good year for the contractors and at last a complete tender information website has been launched in Pakistan from 1st January 2010 by the name of Tender Service Online. This website provides complete tender information from all over Pakistan through Email and as tender alert on mobile phones. It is hoped that this website will fulfill the complete requirements of contractors and suppliers regarding tender information.
